FAQ about short term missions in Guyana:

What kinds of people are needed?
We have a high need of teachers and Bible workers all around the country. Other needs include pilots, farm staff, cooks, builders, nurses, plumbers, water-system engineers, and many others.

How long do I need to stay in Guyana?
Your length of stay really depends on the job you come to do. If you're coming to help with a building project, a few weeks may be enough time. If you come to teach, plan on staying for the entire school year. Pilots need to commit to several years as it is a big commitment to train in-country bush pilots and a pretty involved process.

Do I get paid to work with GAMAS?
All GAMAS team members are self-supporting volunteers. Each person is responsible for their own airfare, food, lodging and personal costs. Teachers will often have food and lodging provided, depending on the situation where they are placed. GAMAS is supported by our volunteers. We all work together to see that the needs we encounter are taken care of. Come down ready to contribute to the Lord's work.
